2018 ~ The Year of the Dog

Happy Chinese New Year!

I believe 2018 is going to be a GREAT year.

“Why?” you ask.

Because it’s the year of the dog. The brown dog, to be exact. And I just happen to have one!

The Chinese believe that if a dog happens to come to a house, it symbolizes the coming of fortune.

DOG IN THE HOUSE!

Dogs are honest and loyal, reliable and loving. They are steadfast and true – once they make a decision, they go for it! They can accomplish extraordinary things. (See video below) Try to incorporate these traits into your life and work and you are sure to be inspired and bound to achieve success! For ideas on how, check out this article.

According to Chinese zodiac analysis, people born in the Year of the Dog tend to be independent, sincere, loyal and decisive . They are not afraid of difficulties in daily life. These shining characteristics are conducive to harmonious relationships with others. However, it is widely believed that people born under the sign of the current year face more challenges. It’s a good idea to be cautious and overly generous this year!

8   Another good omen is the “8” in this year. “8” is considered to be a lucky number. In Chinese, the number 8 sounds like the word for “fortune.”

To increase your luck, wear red. Red symbolizes upward movement – think the flames of a fire. It is considered a symbol of good fortune, and the Chinese believe that the color red can protect them and drive away evil spirits. You should incorporate the color red into your wardrobe and your environment. Green and purple are also lucky this year.

The focus this year will be on on agriculture, the environment, activism and real estate. Aaaand I just happen to be a Realtor in one of the coolest cities in America – Savannah. There’s no better time to buy. Check out my website and see all the great properties available here.

The element connected with the dog this year is earth. This will have a grounding effect and will allow people to take a more level-headed approach to problems.

Lucky numbers this year: 3,4,9 (That was my house number in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, where I was born and raised!)

I really believe 2018 is going to be a fabulous year. All you have to do is believe, like this dog:

Hope you all have a great year!

Monkey See-Monkey Do!

Monkey2016 Happy Chinese New Year…a couple days late, I know. That sneaky monkey! I’ve been so busy that I barely noticed the changeover, although I did pack away all the Sheep paraphernalia decorating the house.

So, what is this new Year of the Monkey going to bring, you may be wondering. Hang on to your hats, folks, because 2016 promises to be quite a bumpy ride! The monkey represents one of the most unlucky years in the Chinese calendar.

First, let’s look at the monkey’s characteristics:

  • intelligent
  • witty
  • inventive
  • playful
  • curious
  • creative

Those are the positive traits. The negatives include:

  • opportunistic
  • tricky
  • untrustworthy

What does all this mean for you? Well, the positive and negative qualities that characterize the monkey make for a year in which anything can happen. Forget planning, because everything is going to be in flux! However, the monkey’s resourcefulness translates into the ability to find unconventional solutions to problems. Things may be happening fast, but with a combination of humor, communication and wit you will make it through.

2016 will see a general undercurrent of insecurity in spite of an upturn in finances, politics and real estate. But don’t fear – the monkey is conducive to risk-taking. You must be both creative and inventive. It’s a good year to break free of old restraints and take a chance on something you have been dreaming about! The monkey’s energy supports change. But take care and educate yourself. Take a class or join a group that shares your interests.

In this new Year of the Monkey, it’s going to be every man for himself. Be shrewd and make any big decisions with your head and not your heart!
